pop quiz

ok i hope some one can help i am just dying to know what these are i am sure they are not active or eddible but there are just the funniest looking things i have ever seen.  thay are on the side if a live tree in RI and are light grey/blue in color. they range in size from about .5cm to .75cm and to honest at that size i think a spore print is out of the question :tongue:
i did get pics though

I'm going to take a wild guess and say they're some sort of Mycena.

I can't help you ID them down to a species, though.  Sorry!

Those look close to Mycena corticola. It's apparently a fairly common species that's usually overlooked.
