help me ID this please!
    #1633610 - 06/14/03 07:52 PM (14 years, 11 days ago)

I live in Connecticut and was walking around my yard looking to see if anything has been growing (its rained a LOT and has been incredibly humid lately). I came across this fragile mushroom (look at the pic closely, u can see the caps are kinda falling apart and the stems are splitting...and they were barely handled). Anyone have any idea what it might be?

Thanks,
emco2

Those look like Coprinus micaceus, a very common spring mushroom in lawns. Edible, not active.

Happy mushrooming!
