Eating Substrate

Ok i have alot of jars that are 100% colonized and are going into the terrarium. I was wondering if i were to eat a colonized substrate while im waiting for the rest of the jars to fruit would i trip? The strain im growing is EQ. Someone PLZ give me some info on this if u have done it before. OH! i am using the PF TeK version to do it i think it would taste nasty eating the Verm but i could prolly handle the brown rice flour, would the verm be bad for u if ingested?

Wow, you really want to trip huh? :smile:  I don't have any advice for you, but I'm waiting for my jars to colonize so I understand your impatience.  I probably wouldn't do it, but good luck if you decide to!

Never done it myself yet since I've had shrooms since i started growing a couple months ago, but from the FAQ I read a guy who cut a 1/2 pint PF TeK BRF+vermiculite cake into cubes and boiled for 10 mins and then made hot chocolate with the resulting tea, and said he tripped like a motherfucker... said it was probably enough for 2 ppl to trip even.  If u wanna try this then go for it, i'd definitely do tea over eating it tho unless you want to have some nasty digestive issues from the vermiculite lol :smile:

ps - obviously strain the nasty BRF/vermiculite/mycelial mush out of the tea before ingesting since that'd be the whole point hehe :smile:

not worth it imo, just be patient and reap the rewards of proper fruiting

if you were patient enough to separate the mycelium from the substrate and then make tea or hot choccy with it im sure you would trip hard.

The mycelium is where your shrooms get all their psilocybin from after all.

FWIW, eating verm in the substrate won't hurt you.  It'll prolly make you really regular and give you the 'glittershits' though.  :wink:
