Presto 22 or 23 Quart Pressure Cooker
    #1632200 - 06/13/03 11:00 PM (14 years, 11 months ago)

Shroomerites-

I went to Bi-Mart today to check out pressure cookers. They had 2 kinds of Presto's that looked good. One was a 23 quart cooker and the other was a 22 quart cooker. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience using either of these and which one I should purchase. They were both the same price, 70 dollars I believe. Thanks.

That seems real good. I couldn't find anything bigger than a 10 qt here.

You can get it from their website for $80, and it costs $5 to become a member. You can also get them from sears fo $76. They hold 20 pints, 24 half pints or 7 quarts. Here is a link for the 22 qt one on ePinions.

Edit: I can't find it on Sears site. Looks like they quit carrying it.

I will be purchasing an all american. I have a regular pressure cooker with a gauge and it's a pain in the bootay. It gets clogged, I have to remember to put it on, and I never know the psi in which I'm pcing.

I'm going for the big bux witht this purchase. A good All American 21.5 quarts.

Can't wait.

I've owned a Presto in the past and it worked, but the seals don't last if you do a lot of PC'ing.  What usually would happen would be I'd not PC anything for 3 months and then make something up to be PC'ed and BAM the seal was dead.  This would happen about once a year or so.  At $12 a gasket over 3 gaskets and you could have had a All American 921 off Ebay.  Actually if you've been watching Ebay closely I've seen several 921's go for under $80.00 this year.
