bluing is a sign of oxidation, so yes... you just lost some potency. i was about to post the same question about preservation so maybe i can help you out. i ran into a problem keeping those shrooms dry, probably due to humidity. so what im doing is putting them in ziplock baggies, sucking out all the air, putting that baggie into another baggie, sucking out the air again, sealing, and wrapping in newspaper. then the bundle goes into a medium sized rubbermaid container. in the container is a canning jar filled a quarter of the way with calcium chloride. cheap ass dessicant. get silica or something better if you have it available. this has worked so far but i wanted to know if anyone has a better way of preserving those shrooms. oh, and yes, fresh shrooms are much more potent than dried.

another thing, you can preserve them in honey after theyre dry and theyre good for a long long time. probably better than both our methods. another thing you can do is grind them into dust and place them in a dark glass container to keep air and light out.. keep them in a cool dry place and theyre good for years. also, i have read somewhere that the potency of shrooms increases with time if stored this way. i have yet to confirm this. if someone can confirm this, i wpould appreciate it. later.

A good way to preserve them after cracker dry is in a coffee can covered in whole brown rice. Or in a baggie with a lot of rice. The rice will absorb any extra moisture. They should remain good like this for quite some time if you freeze them. Just make sure it is sealed properly so you dont get moisture from the freezer.

you really should use the search function and read the FAQ i been growing/posting for about a year now and i STILL use the search function all the time.. its your best friend... i dont want to encourage your behavior, but your new here so ill answer your question
take your dry harvest and place it in a baggie and suck out the air.. then place that baggie in a jar or rubbermaid with dessicent inside..
see that was simple... almost as simple as using the search function
