yeah a lot of that imo is more about cultivating mindfulness of respect for dharma - as this kind of attitude shapes the way you relate to dharma and thus your success with it. like the keeping books off the ground thing is an indian custom i think that kind of traveled with the dharma. the mentality behind the action is nice i think, even if it foesn't actually make a difference karmically or whatever

Yeah, true that. I was listening to one of the dharma das talks where that guy you like was talking about the importance of a shrine, just so you have one place in your house that isn't in chaos and you're mindful of it and whatnot.

Yeah, that dude.
It's going good, but I wish there was more material more often. There has been 2 one hour talks, and some readings, and then a chance to email instructors with questions, but I didn't really have any. So kind of slow I guess.
Hows the one you're doing going?

cool... i'm sure it will pick up as you go. the one i'm in started a bit slow too, but has picked up a fair bit. it's going pretty good now, doing some hefty mantra accumulations (over a million ) but i'm getting a lot out of the practice so i'm happy i hope the dharma das turns out to be great for you if i remember correctly, it was going to start out kinda slow as it's open to people who are entirely new to buddhism... so i'm sure it will get a lot better

well it's advised to not really discuss what you're practicing or who your guru is etc... (at least this was taught to me) so i try to keep quiet spare some details - no secret handshakes yet tho there are some mudras (dunno if these are secret or not lol)
