T. Pachanoi Pics. Comments welcomed :)
    #1632055 - 06/13/03 08:59 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

Here's my first t. pachanoi i ever had.  It's from BoucingBear (Thanks Brad).  When i got it had a hard black spot that i decided to cut out and it's getting alot of new growth in summer months.  Notice the new growth on top   Multiple shots btw.

Also I have a problem of it falling off? Any remedies besides plant it deeper? And another little suprise that swim had.

P.S. All pics were taken with a Sony MVC-FD200. 2.0megapixel(s).

Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded.

nice 5-pointer - i think they can be anything from 4 points (highly sought after) up to 13 or so. mine's a run-of-the-mill 7-pointer. i think yours'd be happier in a much bigger pot, but it looks lovely.

so the general consensus i need to transplant into a bigger pot? just didn't think cacti needed that much room for roots.

the pots fine....Next time dont cut out the spot it was fine..If they get massive amounts of water they can actually burst and seep a black ooze..The spot will heal when the water is cut back..I had a donor graft do this last year because the graft woulnt keep up with the growth and I kept cutting the pups off all summer so it finally split at the seems and oozed.. I dried it out for a while and its fine...Looks like shit though...Not a beautiful blemish free specimen like the 3 footer I just got off Ebay...Damn Impressive I must say...

Oh buy the waythe tip is called Elotation its when it is still growing but in a low light level enviroment....For show quality plants you must withhold water during winter unless you using big halides or sodiums...Only once a month of small amounts of water during dormancy...

BlueJay is correct in stating that the cactus needs more light as the new growth is thin and spindly. However, the word is Etiolation.
