If you have a ZAMZOWS around.. or a pet shop go in and look in the reptile section.. It comes in a big brown brick.. When i called around asking if they had "COCO COIR", everyone said they never heard of it. But when i went into thier stores, i found it.. I guess noone calls it Coco Coir...but its there.. I usually pay about 4 bucks for a big brick. The brand i use is called Eco Earth.. works great.. Plus you can use some moist coco coir to germinate cannibus seeds in as well.

hey soochi, I'm no expert on casings, so stop me if I'm wrong, but I thought casings were supposed to be non-nutritios? Is using miracle grow a good idea? (Im not being sarcastic, please correct me if I'm wrong)

Its Miracle grow mositure control potting mix. Ingredients- Acua coir (a form of coco fiber that holds moisture and slowly releases it), peat moss, miracle grow plant food. Yes, I know casings should be non-nutritive, but I've had good results with the miracle grow peat moss that has some plant food also formulated into it. Doesn't seem to hurt from my experiences. My take is that this potting mix is just their formulated peat moss plus coco fiber. I've heard success with it's usage in the forum in the past.

just about any potting soil that cotains peat moss barkfines and has lime for ph and add 50% vermiculite if it doesn't already have it in it. Works great. wetting agents in these are ok. miracle grow with aqua coir works as well.
