Has anyone here ever found a cubensis growning under a pine tree?

I have never.

Well yeah of course. I'm just saying that I cannot remember ever finding one under a pine tree.

In florida there are pines so the cows could shit under the pine tree and then the shrooms would grow. I found Copelandia cyanescens growing under mango trees in manure in Hawaii.

Does high acidity effect mycelium growth negatively?

Pine needles are fairly acidic. I know that some plants have a hard time growing under pipe trees.

well i doubt the pine needles are that acidic, but i dont know, maybe they would interfere. note the mushrooms dont grown ON the pine neadles and cubes always pretty much grow ON dung. most likely the dung has only become slightly acidic from the pine neadles because its not in the ground where pine neadles have been dropping for the last 20 years or so.
