Hi, Im buying a kit from mushbox.com, its kinda a beginners kit fairly easy to do and such, the only problem is that my friends house has central air and the temp. is probably way to cold considering his room is in the basement I've heard of using a space heater im not even sure what that is but I was wondering if a normal heater would work can anyone help me the kits terranium is a fair sized rectangular prism cardboard waxed box witha clear plastic dome... Can anyone give me ideas?

I used to place my baby mycelium on top of my water heater. It worked well for me.

DONT BUY A KIT.
1.that kit is illegal in the US (contains spawn/mycelium)
mycelium=illegal
spores=legal
you dont want customs knocking on your door do you?
2. for $199.99+S&H, you could get ALL the supplies
you need and then some @ walmart and Home Depot.
all you have to do is read the FAQ and choose a tek (pftek/MMGG)
g'luck man.

Customs knocked on my friends door because of a live grow box like that. You'll get a letter if you're living in the U.S. in which case you have to deny you ever sent out cash for the damn things.

Well first of all im CAN and the kit is only sending to Canada and it costs 160$ with taxes and shipping all together and grows a total minimum of about a pound and its my very first time growing them except for one time I tried to grow spores in jars and got some myceiium but it was at a really low temp and took forever to grow and failed in the end.
Im not looking to grow shit loads just enough to have some nice trips.

If your looking for enough for you and a few friends to trip but a syringe do the pf tek with 12 jars and you will have plenty.

Unless shrooms are legal in Canada their is no guarrantee you'll get it. I just sent someone from there a beer making kit and Canadian customs opened all the packages and rifled through them looking for illegal shit. Better to do it yourself and be self sufficient FOREVER!! at a way lower cost (and aggravation)whatever your problems were last time a little reading and searches on teks here can fix those problems.Also while a PC is best to have for this hobbie you can live without one to start ...i boiled my jars for a year( with good success) before i eventually got a PC

Hmm I might decide to use a tek probably pftek could someone tell me what my best choices are for a noob? how do you sterilize your jars without a pc using a regular pot and boiling it??
