I got a cheap phone plan that doesn't let me do text messages at all. I'm not a fan of them anyway, takes more time and effort.

Something about the way my brain registers information makes it extremely difficult to pick out words from a phone call. It sounds, honestly, like a mess of white noise to me. I have to ask people to repeat themselves constantly, and even then I sometimes just give up after hearing it five times, still don't get it.

Plus, texting is more convenient than the phone if you're good at multitasking (aka: have ADHD) too.

This is sort of fascinating, propensity and morrowasted as well.  Do you guys have difficulty comprehending conversations in person or trouble listening to radio or television?

Not in person, but yes to the TV and radio. I do not watch TV or movies unless I am with others who are doing that... which is rare. I get distracted from the picture/sounds by any noise around me.

WHYYY :yuno:

yeah i dislike people like this.  It's the same type of person that deactivates their facebook and thinks they are Jack Keroac or some shit.

I realize texting about drugs has it's risks, but i'd much rather text about it.  Plus haggling about drug deals on the phone it's easy to be overheard, imho.

This seriously pisses me off when people do that. I'll ask a simple question like "hey dude, you on your way?" and then I'll get a call that will be insanely complicated just so that they can say "yes." The call will be like "hello? Hello? Hey dude. What's up? How's it going? So yeah.. Uhm... You on your way? Oh, I see, okay, cool, yeah, that's cool, so you're on your way? Cool, alright. Thanks dude. See you then. Later." All of that could have been done in one text: "yes"

I'll even tell people specifically to text me, in the text message, and the fuckers call me!
:kingcrankey:

However, obviously I would never want anyone to text me about anything illegal/drug related. That goes without saying. But for 99% of every day conversation, a text is just more efficient and easier.

Not in person, but with TV and radio sometimes. Not as bad as the phone though.

Could have something to do with how lo-fi the audio is on a telephone.
