My friend's friend's friend just opened his fruiting chamber after leaving it alone for a day to notice one of his Eq cakes completely enveloped in fucking cobweb mold with a slighlty sour smell somewhat like moldy popsickle sticks (which he assumes is bacteria)! In his chamber are a huge creeper casing and 2 eq cakes, all of which should start pinning any day now! He quickly chucked the cake and its platform and sprayed the entire surrounding area with 50/50 h2o2/h2o. He even gave the casing a light spray of it ontop and under in case that was the source of bacteria. Tomorrow he plans on returning to the scene of the crime to replace the perlite with less perlite in hopes of preventing this from happening again. Will his efforts hopefully save his children?
Cobweb mold moves so fucking quickly. I actually went home the other day and noticed a casing that was quite happily growing cobweb mold. So, I binned the bastard and started again. Hope all goes well.

does cobweb mold usually smell sour? I have some straw colonizing right now and its quite fluffy on top....tho it does look like mycelium that I've seen on top of a casing layer I'm a lil bit worried since most of the pics I have seen of straw show it thicker and gradually spreading instead of getting a light fuzz over the straw first....I will say this tho...its getting thicker, its pure white and it smells fine too me...but I can't help but be a lil paranoid...I also def see rhizomorphs...but not so much on top...just seems to be fuzzy and getting thicker...I'm prolly just being paranoid but some reassurance would be great
