Storing poo and unattended spawning

Suppose there exists a week where one can gather a bunch of horse poo, prepare some quart jars of WBS, and prepare the bulk poo/verm mix. The poo has to be sterlizied or pasteurized this week. Then suppose there is a two week gap for the quarts to colonize. At the end of the two weeks the quarts are mixed with the poo and left completely unattended to colonize for just less than another two weeks.
Will the poo be able to sit in the bag for two weeks and still be used to spawn? Also, while the poo is colonizing will it be ok if there is no air exchange? Sterilize or pasteurize?

once the poop is pasteurized and mixed with colonized grain, it can be left unatended for 2 weeks no problem.. it will done by that time but will be fine!
keeping un-past/sterilized poop in a closed up bag for 2 weeks might be a problem, leave the bag open so it can dry out... pasteurize it when you need it !

ok cool. one thing maybe i wasn't clear about, if the poo is sterilized before being stored, will it be ok after two weeks of waiting?

don't seal up the casing airtight leave some tiny holes for air to circulate while it colonizes.

allright, thanks for the advice. so here's the plan: just after mixing the spawn and poo cover up with plastic wrap, poke a couple of holes, then incubate at 86 and wait until the two weeks is up. should the wrap be on the surface of the mixture or, say, around the top of the tupperware? if at the top there would certainly be more airflow.

I think you want the temp a litlle lower, say possibly 82 or so, because the myc produce heat when colonizing the poo. I could be wrong though?!?!

well, the heater adjusts its heat output according to what the environment needs. so, if the mycelium is producing heat and maintains 86 by itself the heater won't turn on. thanks for the advice though
