Can you extract from PF Cakes?

What I wan't to know is, can I use this extraction method with regular PF Cakes, or must it be grains? And do you suggest I chop the cake up a bunch and put it in a coffefilter when doing the extraction? http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/7998

If using PF cakes then you would have to filter out vermiculite, so your idea with coffie filter might be OK.

It works. You'd want to crumble and dry out the cake first.

You also need like 4 or 5 cakes and they should be at least near the pinning stage.

Oh -- metal coffee filters work the best because you can press out the liquid and it won't rip.
