Overlay? Pics.. :(
    #1624811 - 06/10/03 10:58 PM (13 years, 5 months ago)

Hi guys..
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it looks like these trays are having an overlay problem? This pic was taken on the 7th, and now (10th) they are even more covered with mycelium.. The mycelium looks very thick and very white..
The strain is EQ, and the casing is brown rice with an overlay of top soil.

Thanks in advance

You know I don?t really know if it is overlay. I don?t think so cause it has never affected shroom growth. In fact shrooms will grow right out of that stuff. I have to admit I?ve most often seen it with PRs

Considering it's been 9 days and no pins showing? On your pic it looks like the very white spots are just on the outer edges, with the ones i posted it's actually covering the whole surface.. well not really on the picture, since the pic is from 3 days ago, but now it is..
If that makes sense :-/ *rambling*

Anyone else? Puhhhlease??

Yes that is a slight overlay.
Fruits can still grow from those spots however the spots are easily damaged by condensation.

When you do a casing it is always good to mix up extra casing and store it in a ziplock. Then when things like this happen you can patch case by sprinkling some sterile casing over the overlayed spots. That will alow the other portions of the casing to catch up for a more even pinset.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply
What do you suggest I do now?  Scratch?  Cold Shock?  Maybe just forget it exists and check on it in 2 weeks or so

Alright, so if I do decide to go with scratching, should I patch the scratched areas afterwards? Or do I just leave them uncovered?
