best way to introduce cake to straw/grass in this case
    #1624662 - 06/10/03 08:14 PM (20 years, 10 months ago)

OK well here's what happened. My friend bought 4 straw/grass mycobags from Sporeworks. innoc'ed them with cubensis. They're not growing. Apparently the straw/grass bags aren't meant to be innoce'd directly...So he's going to make another grain cake and wait for that to colonize, then use that to colonize the other straw bags. Question is, how exactly would be the best way to do this? Do you case the straw mix or what do you do with it exactly?

take your grain that is already 100% colonized and crumble it (remember to be sterile as possible)  Some people do it in a ziplock bag or my cat does it with his bear paws.

Pasturize ur straw and then mix ur spawn and straw--let it incubate and then case

Viola!

p.s. this is explained much better in the FAQ
