Costa Rica incoming

Hello MH&I!
I'm going to Costa Rica this summer and wanted to get a thread going as a starting point for my pictures and discussion with you lovely minds. I'll be about 4 hours south of SJ int'l around Dominical and San Isidro.
This thread is not limited to actives, but they are of course welcome.
I'll be sure to look for Wood Ears as they are supposedly very common but does anyone have any advice on what other edible species I should likely encounter?
I've already got these links as resources, but any input from you is greatly appreciated!

Hey man, haven't seen ya in a while Look for some "Costa Rica Morels" and some oysters. This is a cool link, but kinda hard to use. http://www.nybg.org/bsci/res/hall/index.html
Just noticed the link I posted is the same as yours

Cubes & P. cyans = yup Not my focus, but I'm sure I'll keep an eye out for those too!
Hey B! Yeah... I've been MIA on the mushy scene for a bit... I was focusing on school and had some personal shit going down. Thanks for noticing Do you have any pics? Or are they similar enough with our temperate species that there won't be any trouble ID'ing?

It should be a paradise of fungi, but I have no idea what to expect as of seasons for mushroom hunting. I only hope you visit during a good time to hunt. Looking forward to some updates

Absolute best time to go to Costa Rica for mushrooms and in general! All I can say is look very high (mountains) and very low (valleys). I can't WAIT to see what you find!!!

Whew! Little teaser update for y'all with much more to come. I have some pictures but I need to activate my sponsorship before uploading more. I promise the beauty shots will be here soon.
I've been here for almost a week... very much going on. Waterfalls and diving pools, ridiculous forest hikes and views. And yes, the mushies are in abundance. I feel so lacking in my ID skills here... there are so many types!
Day 1: arrived late and had to fix our vehicle before climbing the mountain to the farm at 2000 feet.
Day 2: Found a solitary Ps. cubensis while gardening and was given a machete. Epic start.
Day 3: Hiked what they call Diamante here... 6 hours in total. Awesome. I saw at least 20 different kinds of fungus, including many Reishi, without even really looking as I was trying to keep some guests (of the farm) on trail.
Day 4: Composting and substrate inventory day. Gearing up. Our manure comes from a horse stable only 1km away. I'm gonna check this one out for some of our favorite friends regularly.
Day 5: Another hike to a more local waterfall. I know I'll be back down there many times as my standard forest hunting grounds as it's within walking distance.
Day 6 (today): Really busting out new compost systems and found LOADS of mycelium in their leafy debris pile. No fruitbodies, but I have more searching to do around this area. The farm in total is 30+ acres... I have a lot to cover just in the immediate area, and I'm loving it.
Pics soon, and for following along on my journey!

Okay! Sorry for the delay all... enjoy!
As always, please correct me where I am mistaken. Any confirmations corrections, and elaborations are appreciated.
One of the most beautiful mushrooms I've ever seen. This was found near Nauyaca waterfall. I probably found more of this species than any other; they were everywhere! Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum).
Turkey Tail, I think? The colors are very different from the ones I find in California. (Trametes versicolor). The second grouping is greener from moss on the caps.
Some cool looking mycelium near these unknown (to me) species.
Very wonderfully white. Angel Wings (Pleurocybella porrigens).
Xylaria sp.?
The shape suggests a Phallus sp., but I don't know the genus well or this one.
Some more unknowns. Earth tongues?
Sarcoscypha sp.? Peziza sp.?
Tiny! And unknown again.
Artist's Conk Ganoderma applantum
Unknown, though I found this one fairly regularly and I think I've seen it in the states too.
another unknown.
And here's some pics of the beauty of the place that I hinted at upthread... I have many more non-mushy-related photos, but I'm trying to stay on topic!
At a neighbor's house in our pueblo.
Part of Diamante's waterworks
Our next-farm neighbor's waterfall/pool. We had private access to this one whenever we wanted.
And the view from the yoga platform at the top of our farm.
Sooo many more photos, but I think this will suffice for now. The trip was absolutely amazing! I've never felt such a sense of abundance and belonging. Furthermore, I have an open invitation to return as their full-time greenhouse/mushy cult. manager, and I'll be returning no later than January. I'm so stoked.
Thanks for reading!

Firstly, I want to say that Costa Rica has been tugging at me for years and you are not helping the situation! Secondly thank you for sharing these. Some really beautiful scenery and very intriguing mushrooms.
are those actually mushrooms??? Something about them seems wrong but they are amazing.
This one is an Oudemansiella species.
"tiny unknown again" is really cool!

You are welcome Suchen! You should totally go! I had a fantastic time. The heavy part of their wet season is coming up (Oct./Nov.), but after that is dry season from Dec./Jan until April/May. The early part of wet season, which is when I was there, was soo perfect. Bright, clear, sunny mornings with an afternoon drizzle or rain pretty much every day starting around 3 or so... little bit of both. So great!
I thought the same thing about those being "off!" I'm still unsure, but I have no idea what else they might be.

Thanks a bunch! Yeah... I spent a month in Europe prior to Costa Rica. I'm feeling very fortunate for my summer. Thanks for stopping by!

I forgot to update this thread!
Alan found my post, and I had the unknown "off" looking species in my signature for a while. He had a plant specialist friend of his look into it, and s/he said they are likely Helosis cayennensis.
NOT a mushy!
But still super-cool looking!
