Help with WBS
    #1621142 - 06/09/03 05:14 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

Hey all,
On June 6, 6 jars filled with WBS were inoculated with 6 various PCubensis:
Mexi cubs
Mexi paenque
Huautla
B+
Cambodian
Hawiian
Nothing is happening. and it is day 4. No germination, nada!!
Should I inoculate some water into these babies. Maybe the substance is too dry.
Should I be patient?

Your advice is greatly appreciated. Gracias.

I would do nothing for at least another three days. Injecting water is tricky as the water seldom becomes evenly distributed within the jar.

Don't inject water that will only possibly introduce contams. It won't actually make the grain get wet. How is the moisture content? What does the grain look like? Is it exploded or not? I found that within reason, the wetter the faster colonization. You might want to think about using 6t's tek here at the shroomery and redoing your cakes, because if you do it right you will be looking at fully colonized cakes in two weeks max with an agressive strain. You should probably try to get good at one strain too before you start growing 6 of them. Good luck with that shit, post some pics or something and then people can tell you if its too dry!

Did you use a pc?

I would assume yes--but if not that could be your problem--

I also give mad props to 6t's WBS tek--12 jars 100% colonized in 11 days--NO CONTAMS!!!

good luck

Alright thanks for the suggestions.
Here's a pic of these things. BTW I'm an experimentalist, an alchemist if you will, and like do try many things at once (hence the 6 different kinds at once).
Here's 3 one of them is pure yellow millet (an experiment of mine) the other are WBS)

Here's an upclose view of one of the WBS:

What do ya think.
Thanks for the help.
Oh and some of the seeds are exploding and I did following the 6t Tek i thought to the "t" hmmmm.....

You should be patient. Some of my wbs jars took 7 days before showing any signs of growth. After that they just took off!

whats up with your millet only jar?? uneven coloring is a sign of uneven distribution of water-did you shake your jars?? other than that dont do anything and dont worry until 2 weeks down the road, cause than you know FOR SURE something got fucked up...

Did you boil the WBS before you pcd it??The reason i'm asking is that your bird seed looks a little dry:(.A foaf treats WBS much like popcorn and it works great. He boils his until he notices the kernals start to break open then drain for an hour, load, then pc for and hour at 15PSI. Heres a pic of popcorn AND WBS prepared the same exact way I just mentioned....

Left is 2 quarts of EQ on WBS from a WBS Grain to Grain transfer
Middle is Keepers Creepers innoculated w/spore syringe
Right is Koh Samui Elephants Gate grain to grained from popcorn to WBS
