Psathyrella candolleana?

Habitat: Lawn/Ohio

Gills: Lighter when young,darkening when mature. Attached

Stem: fibrous/hollow whitish/offwhite

Cap: Large, concave Splitting as it spreads.  Relatively thin, especially when mature


Spore print color: rich brown

Could be, spore information and sizes would help a lot.

Edit:  And also making sure there are no Pleurocystidia.

There should be a pic of the spore print, and I said rich brown.  As far as size, the largest was about 3 inches in diameter? That's an estimate.

A spore print is a mass of spores, I mean the the individual spore shape and size.  You'd need a microscope for a confident identification, but at least it looks like P. candolleana. :shrug:

Psathyrella is a difficult and confusing genus, even the experts have trouble with it. :smile:

thats as close as you can get without a scope.  I would call it that without one to prove i am wrong lol.
