knocked this biatch up about 5 days ago, no signs of colonization.I opend the jar today and took a big whiff, it wreaks of soured coffee.
theres four holes because i reused this jar, sterilized with steam for an hour. its pretty crude, the polyfill might be to tight, im not sure as this is my second time brf caking and first time using polyfill.i've seen some lid teks but now i cant find. any information would be great

How much coffee did you use? Coffee and polyfil is really meant for grain lids.

that poly is a bitch to use with lids IMO try some EZ felt lids and use high temp silicon over the innoc holes, instant SHIPS. coffee isn't going to help much, been there, tried it. go with strait wbsf or mix it with the brf you got, both work great.
heres the lids i speak of:

and you used full strength coffee?
two things I see wrong:
-The vermiculite layer serves as the filtering layer of brf jars. If you don't feel safe with that, put micropore tape over the inoculation holes.
-Use diluted coffee...
Personally I didn't find PF Tek to be worth my time, so I don't know anything beyond what I've read. Hopefully you'll see some growth soon and everything works out, but my guess is your spores don't like the super acidic coffee, but contamination does.

ummm... I'm not sure what you can do to clean that up... GE isn't your problem... I'm not going to lie to you, even average coffee is too strongly acidic I would think. I'm sure there is still hope. Cubes can grow on almost anything.
What prompted you to use the full strength coffee? Do you have a link to the Tek you were following?

the placement of the innoc holes are suppose to be on the outermost part of the lid,so you could see growth inside the first week,op your holes are kinda in the middle of the mix so it might take another week or two before you can see any growth.
