Working on a cold-fruiting chamber (starts with a question)

Hi all,
I've got some species on the go that fruit in colder temperatures, so I'm looking to build a cold FC.
I've had my eye on this drinks chiller at Curry's here in the UK: http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/currys-ess-ccwc16b11-wine-cooler-black-08665664-pdt.html
I would probably be looking to lie it on its back, and add LED lighting strips on top, on the glass door. I've been to the store and tried flipping it this way, and does seem practical to do this - this way it opens like a deep freeze unit. I'll probably need to make 'feet' on the bottom to give a little clearance for warm air to escape from the refrigeration unit, but that seems minor.
The other thing I need to do is add some ventilation. I'm thinking a computer fan on a timer, as I've done with my regular FCs. I'm assuming that cooling tubes (or whatever) line the insides of the solid parts, so I'd probably have to go in through the glass, for a top-mounted fan. It's double-paned glass (hopefully not tempered!) so I'd have make decent-sized holes in the door glass, using a glass cutter, or, if I'm careful/clever, using Dremel attachments.
Hopefully, a bit of polyfil on one side of the fan would provide some degree of basic air filtration and (probably more-importantly) enough insulation.
Does this sound feasible to everyone? Any major flaws in the plan?
RogerRabbit, IIRC you have some past professional experience that might be useful here, no?

I had a previous thread on the question here: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/13718233#13718233
Stonesun bought a similar thing, but I'm wondering about the practicality of the specific mods I mentioned above

no shit, I have been wanting to get a chilled FC for years I have never got my local wood lover to fruit because of the damn low temps needed for primordial growth.
I was in lowes a few days ago picking up a new hot water heater and seen some wine coolers kinda like that and this is the first thing I thought of when I seen them.
very curious what you come up with.

I used to use a stand-alone air conditioner unit to cool my mini-greenhouse for edibles. However, you can grow most wood decomposing fall fruiting mushrooms at room temperature after a suitable cold shock. The challenge is they're very slow and trying to keep green mold at bay until they fruit is difficult. RR

very interesting, I was under the impression 50-60 was required throughout fruiting. but then again during height of season its in the mid to upper 70's in the day.
damn I may need to hit the woods this year anyway. need to renew my fishing license anyway
