I got this fully colonized jar of EQ's on popcorn
I was thinking I could colonize 10 more jars of popcorn with it !! The jar is fully colonized and 100% contamination free; I won't be inoculating with it for at least 2 weeks, so my main concern is how do I preserve it until then.
-Leave it as is in the cupboard -Top it off then aluminium foil and put it in the fridge ???... what ???

Leave it. Spend the next two weeks locating rye.

I've always had success with popcorn... I tried rye and didn't like it. I was thinking about making 10 more jars out of that one then doing a bulk grow on straw...

What didn't you like about rye? How cheap it was? How easy it was to get the moisture content right? How quickly and thoroughly you could sterilize it?

Im sure rye is great maybe i'll give it an other try someday... For now I preach popcorn, it's VERY easy to get, VERY easy to get moisture content right and when prepared properly risk of contamination is same as any other spawn... I say this because i hear people bitching about how popcorn is very prone to contamination... never was for me. Colonizes very fast with polyfil plug and when you have left overs you can make a very tasty snack with it !

It's nice to see someone else singing the praises of popcorn. It's cheap and easy to find. It cost me $3 to fill six jars. +5 for you good sir.

WBS I tried once and had no luck with, and it made a huge mess. Plus I live with my dad because he's getting old and needs help around the house, and he said that the birdseed bothered him so I don't use WBS. He let's me grow so I have to listen when he says something bothers him.

I use to advocate popcorn. I still kinda do but everyone is right rye is way superior. I at first did believe it but after a few more grows side by side it was obvious rye was the winner.
As for the jar leave it. Should be fine.
