does this look like trich to you?
    #16179845 - 05/04/12 12:17 AM (11 years, 9 months ago)

Hello friends,

My friend wants me to ask you fine people if you think this is trich. He has a hard time distinguishing green from blue. I think it's contamination but, I'm not a 100%. If it is I'm assuming that it should be placed outside. Would it be safe to eat the mushrooms if they have green on them assuming you cut it off of them and wash the mushrooms?

Isolate it away from the others and see if it grows.  If its a contam it will spread, if that happens, toss the cake and don't eat the mushies.

I cant see any trich....only a little bruising on the stem.
Looking good to me, but i can be wrong.
The first picture looks like there could be some kind of "Penicillium"
Trich has a very dense, bright white and powdery looking myc.
I would wait and see if it turns green in the next days.
If not then there is no trich.
But if there is any other colored myc then white (like gray ore green) then You shoult better toss it.

It hasn't changed colors it's pretty much the same. The mushrooms are growing. I have a couple of cakes next to it that are pure white and now pinning. I ate some of the mushrooms off of that casing the other day and they were awesome!  Im in love with PE now.

Thanks everybody
