Need an experiment!!

Hello fellow shroomites !!
Fairly new member to The Shroomery community. I've been crawling through the threads for years, but only recently decided to join in. I've been cultivating my precious for about two years and things have been going great (thanks to many hours addicted to the Shroomery threads ).
Anyways, I am wanting to contribute back to the community. I have a free summer off from [Insert college name] to experiment. I am a bio-chemistry major so leaning towards something in that area dealing with my P. cubensis, but anything will do. Anyone have any curiosity about different teks? Substrate additives?
I plan on document every step through pics, any relevant quantifiable measurements and a grow log.

I would experiment with each particular seed in wild bird seed. Using individual seeds that make up the mix; Making jars of one seed. Look at how the growth is done with the exact of inoculation. I recommend a Liquid Culture from a particular variety of P. cubensis. Shake them all the same and have a WBS jar of regular WBS mix for your control.
Or maybe experiment with different amounts of spawn in pure coir + 2 quarts of medium grade vermiculite + 4 quarts of water pasteurized (Bulk tek) and see if you can get the same amount of fruit from say 10 quarts of spawn in one tub vs. 5 quarts of spawn in 2 tubs. /
I don't know lol. I just began bulk WBS jars and shook this morning. I'm working with Amazonian P. Cubs and this bitch'en variety is FAST. I was working with LC penis envy, and let me tell you, they are SLOW. Fruits, colonization, everything!
I did all my inoculations in one setting with neutra-air and regular Lysol. All in one setting in a confined area with proper clothing and flame sterilization. It was all open air. No contams... Period. I wouldn't ever waste my time with a glovebox or shit like that. I plan on building a flowhood in the future for G2G transfers.
It's not encouraged here at the shroomery, but seriously, a 1/4;/1/2 can of Lysol is magical. Its been 9 days and some of my BRF cakes (I did 24 BRF cakes at the same time as 12 WBS quarts) are 50% colonized, again, Amazonian is insane.
Anyway lol... I got off topic. I would do those types of experiments the teks really don't educate you about. Like,"Use WBS because its a variety of seed the mycielium will thrive on." Make sense?
Oh and I just like this GIF lol

Both of those ideas are great. I have a very aggressive clone of GT that has been reliable. Made baby bottle LCs with the honey and have used it as spawn. I will probable use it for this grow as soon as I bounce a few more ideas around. I'm currently working with B+, GT, Lipa Yai, and The Keep's Creep. Amazonian looks interesting, I will try it as soon as I can get my hands on some.
On the 1 VS. 2 Mono tub(s): I am pretty sure that the 2x5 quarts monos will provide a larger yield, all other factors being the same. I have read repeatedly that that is due to the amount of available surface area for the pinset. Now I am pulling this from memory (or the other end) because I don't have time to find the links, so I might be wrong.
I built a pretty sturdy glove-box when I first started this hobby and it still does its job perfectly. I just use a 70% alcohol solution (Get it by the gallon)to spray everything including the sides of the inside walls and underside of the lid, then leave them slightly wet while I work. I use a 1:10 bleach solution to clean the surrounding areas. I haven't had any comtam. problems yet . I also keep all components within ziplock or foodsaver bags until after inoculation so things are isolates as much as possible.
On a side note I watched a video last night by Paul Stamet about the genus Psilocybe where he talked about P. Azurescens. Do the really turn blue just from blowing on them? I definately will try to start those asap. I wonder if they will work with PF Teks? Research I go.....
keep the ideas coming ...

Hi and welcome to the shroomery . P. Azurescens is a woodlover and will grow brf but will need to be spawned to wood chip or mulch to fruit . They are also very hard to fruit indoors so 99% of cultivators fruit outdoors . there are loads of teks for outdoor beds . The search bar is your friend but this will get you started . http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/2359088 Good luck and if you plan to do azures make a nice grow log with plenty pics .
