Okay, so let's just assume I have bacterial blotch. Let's start with what I'm doing wrong. Is it okay to mist fruits? I've heard so much misinformation about misting. I have a fine mist sprayer and I spray about 4 feet above the tub and let the mist come down. I mist for about 15-20 seconds. All the caps look shiny and wet. When I check back in 60-90 minutes, they appear dry, usually. This last part of the week, the little fuckers decided to turn on me.
So, what's the consensus on misting nowadays? Do you mist only up until you have pins and then stop? Others say to just mist the side walls. I've read posts from RR I think that say in nature, mushrooms survive direct exposure to rain, so it's silly to think that misting the fruits directly is in any way harmful. What say you, fellow shroomers?

I'm not even sure how you would mist around cakes, considering the mist comes out in a cloud, but this is a mono tub, so there's no perlite to mist directly.

YIKES! I was reading two different threads one mono tub, one Jars. I'm gonna delete my post, as it's irrelevant.

I'd say stop misting , only mist before you fan and make sure the droplets on the pins evaporate . And only fan 5 times a day max probly , you need to keep the RH up . Just leave your monotub alone and let nature run its course. NURTURE is the key word. Good luck .

It's important to remember that misting is to replace evaporated water, not to actually water the mushrooms like a plant. Misting the side of the tub is a good idea, although Cubes are used to getting rained on, so small amounts are just fine.

Stopped misting. They got better. First picture is from yesterday afternoon. Second pic is from this morning. I'll harvest the rest and dunk tonight.

they look much better, but im not sure if dunking is necessary - if you misted excessively the substrate might be moist enough

My biggest problem right now is figuring out which are pins and which are aborts. I plan on up-ending the cake onto another tub bottom and harvest the side and bottom clingers. So, I have to sweep off the top, and I don't want to pull off pins if they're going to grow for me. But yeah, it's not dry.

i don't if dunking the sub is a good idea but if you do just leave all the pins, thats the next flush.. But check the pins you might think are aborts in a day or two so they don't rot. The misting you did caused the caps to change color , and as you may know excessive misting DOES causes aborts. Just watch em. Also 2-3 hours is long enough for dunking. Don't mist after dunking cuz you already have pins. Sounds like things are getting better.

I harvested last night and dunked for 3 hours and drained for 12. I tried uploading a pic, but I get the following error...
Your upload exceeds 20,971,520 bytes, or it may have timed out. Please check the size of your file(s) and try again.
Guess I have too many pictures uploaded?

Eh. I guess it was a Firefox issue. I can still upload with IE.
