I had read that incorporating straw into the bulk substrate leads to MASSIVE fruits. I wonder why that is? Some micronutrients, or maybe just better support for big, heavy fruits. Helps wick water up maybe? Anyone one else have any insights on this. That really is an amazing mushroom. I think it is bigger than any I have even found in the field.

It was a monotub, and no there were very little spores. I could have let it go longer but I waited long enough I had to pick.

That is hefty. Any insight into why the rest of the flush was "unspectacular"?
Compared to whatever THAT is, I would imagine the rest to be just that.

Splitting the stem might help. Expose more surface area. As for me, I would just take a fat bite outta it, like an peah, and let the juices run down my chin.
