Growing in the bedroom?

I want to incubate my BRF jars in my room, but I'm worried about sterility. I mean, I can create a clean environment but I'm not too enthusiastic about having to eliminate air flow. Here's a solution I came up with, let me know what you think:
I could create a clean spot in my closet or drawer with plants for oxygen. When I check up on them, I can turn off my fan and AC, and spray the surrounding air with a water/alcohol solution to kill any bacteria floating around.
Then two more quick things: 1) When I birth and soak the cakes, do I need to cover them? 2) I want to use the Poor Man's Tank, or the auto a

If you're making you're brf jars with the pf tek you shouldn't have to worry about sterility, the perlite layer or filter (don't use both, it'll restrict the GE too much) will take care of bacteria. There is also no need to incubate, room temperature is fine. Finally, you don't need to cover them, I remember reading that some light actually benefits the growth.
Try reading more recent posts, this sort of question is asked a lot around the forum, there is very good old material out there but corroborate it with more recent information so you can get a more accurate picture and better results.

Are you concerned about colonization or fruiting? Once you're fully colonized, contamination is of lower concern.
During colonization everything should remain in the jars, and remain sterile on its own accord. After birthing the cakes should be fairly contaminate resistant.
Of course I'm assuming you are doing PF Tek.

Haha thanks everyone. Yes I'm using PF tek. So I don't have to be a clean nazi during colonization, just careful? Because the Tek has all this talk about a draft-free room, etc.
And what about soaking? I always read about submerging it totally but it never says anything about keeping them covered. Is that because the colonized cakes are contam resistant?
