Long time reader, first time poster.
Hey so I have read all this stuff on storing and it seems pretty consistent to use a plastic bag, suck air out and put in jar then fridge (or not). A lot of people say to use desiccant which sounds like a good idea. My plan is to use a tea bag to put it in. is this a good choice? also(yes dumb question) but should the tea bag with desiccant go inside the jar or inside the plastic bag with the cracker dry shrooms?

Ziploc bags wont work well its best to get an air tight container I like latch lid jars ceramic ones are a dime a dozen.
I actually use tea bags filled with epsom salt www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/16130456

I would say yes to the tea bag in with the shrooms, though making extra sure no desiccant gets out. You can buy premade lots of them, though its not the cheapest solution.
Lastly, I think if you measure the moisture content of your shrooms after they are dried, you might not even need to keep desiccant with them. I would mesaure the thickest stiped shroom wet, then periodically weigh it during the drying process to determine its remaining moisture content. Shrooms are generally 90% water.

I use tyvek envelopes from USPS, cut in half, filled with 'crystal' cat litter (silica), taped well

I should have said if you plan to use a silica based desiccant tea bags wouldn be a good idea, the tyvek idea or even paper should work without getting silica dust on your shrooms.

Make sure they are "cracker" dry (snaps cleanly when bent) before attempting to seal and store.
A very good and cheap desiccant can be bought at most stores, it goes by the name DampRid. It is simply anhydrous calcium chloride. It is dirt cheap, and comes in little breathable bags, or loose in bulk for cheap. Putting it in a paper envelope is all that's needed. It can be reused by baking it in the oven at ~ 200°F for a while to dehydrate it. Magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt) also works for this purpose, but it usually has to be dehydrated until anhydrous in the oven as well, before using.
Also, for long term storage, I would recommend vacuum packing, and adding an oxygen scavenging pack. These can be bought or found in some medicine bottles and contain mostly iron. Oxygen is the enemy. Also remember that most plastics are very poor oxygen barriers.
Good luck.
