decent pot setup? (pics)
    #1619623 - 06/09/03 02:39 AM (13 years, 5 months ago)

Hey, I don't know too much about growing but I thought it would be fun to attempt to grow a plant, so I started some good bag seed in my window and now am attempting to grow it indoors for a bit then move it outside to nice spot. The setup I am using involves two 15W cool white flourescent tubes in fixtures on top then a spiral compact flouro that is setup at an angle over the plant, and I have one PC continously blowing on the plant. So does this setup seem alright for growingg the plant about 8 inches tall? Also is having the compact fluoro above the plant(about 2 inches) to much heat? Those compacts get real hot. Peace.

Heh, nice ramshackle grow box
I think that setup should be fine for growing the plant to like 8 in. or so, but definatley not for flowering or anything obviously!
You will know if the light is too hot because the plant will start to wilt and curl up at the part nearest the light. Though since you have a fan going constantly it should be OK...it could be beneficial to add one or two more fluoro's, if your plant starts to 'stretch' too much.

yea that will do the trick until you can move them outside. your plants should be fine that close to the light. good luck with the grow and keep us posted. peace

Yea, its rubber maid tub, but the two longer sides were both cut off (for the lid of a terranium for shrooms) so I had to put grocery bags and different shit around it, which is why it looks so trashy. My only worry is that there is not enough fresh air, I have air circulating around from the PC fan, but no intake of fresh air. Peace.
