Texas heat/humidity and spore ordering question
    #1617977 - 06/08/03 09:17 AM (20 years, 8 months ago)

Since i live in TX and we have plenty of humidity to go around, is it possible to incorp. this with my growing or will the heat kill it? Also, i was wondering if these same weather conditions  could effect my spore syringes if i should decide to order? Is there a way to order (if possible) have the retailer send it fedex priority overnight? I will hopefully be ordering in aug. but this is one of the hottest/humid months of the year here, should i wait unti fall-winter to be safe, or would the spores be safe traveling overnight? Thanks guys, and again, i dont know if i'll be checking back at the board often so if you have a little free time and some educated, useful info, my e-mail addey is - SylverCythe@aol.com
Thanks

I wouldn't worry about that. I don't think the TX weather will ruin your spores via mail.

Just keep them in the fridge in the veggie drawer when you get them.

Texas is a big place, about half of it is dry hill country and just flat out desert. Though East texas down to the coast is a myco dream come true.

To further this topic, if you live in a climate with humidity in the 90-100% range daily, would it help out your indoor cakes?

not if you use an AC unit or heater. but if it's 68 outside and 95% and you have all your windows open then it will raise the rh % in your house. the thing is, you will already have a way of controlling the RH inside a grow chamber so..

If i was going to grow outdoors exclusively I'd move to washington state.. probably Astoria, where the Goonies lived..
