I love the wicker basket that is hanging over the fire like someone's gonna cook up some stew in it :tongue2: Wish more people had labs to check out, but I think this is a good topic for a thread. To twistid, Nice lab. I actually just ordered some posters like the ones you got for gills and what not. Awesome thing to have right in front of ya. Buddy.

Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.

A big whoot whoot 2Sage.  It's a great set up you got going on.  Although I do not have a set up at this time, I just landed a new apartment not that long ago.  Now that I don't have to worry about roommates and other unwanted eyes and mouths around my hobby I will soon be giving it a run. That's a down ass mouse pad too.

OK... so how much do you want for the orange Beatles/Sgt. Pepper's poster?

Nice gear! nerd.

I wish my lifestyle was stable enough to set-up a sick permanent lab like that. Doesn't work when your living in a new place every 4 or 5 months.

How do you plan on being employed in this field someday? Ive dreamt of it myself, but there aren't a ton of jobs for Mycologists out there.. Plus im pretty content where im at.

P.S. How did you get the melzers?

I plan on writing a book someday, and would be happy working in any aspect of mycology/ecology/biology. Who knows what will happen, and I am surely expanding my network daily.

I got the Melzers reagent from a mycology professor. Show them you know what you are talking about and they may help you out. He gave my crew that, and a bunch of slides and slip covers when we volunteered at the Microscopy and ecology tables at The Burke Museum's Mushroom Maynia event.

That's awesome man. What would the book be about? I need to get in touch with the local mycology society. I've only been to one meeting, but I loved it. Now that I am starting to purchase more advanced equipment, I have always wondered how I could use it to make a living. maybe work for a university discovering new fungi species that provide benefits genetic diseases' If I could, I would use all of my time researching fungi, but alas, gotta pay the bills:sad:  to the dream Twistid.

It is made of metal! I don't know, have anything cool and mycology related? Any books I may not have?

Stepping up in the world since my last post in this thread. Although it's not specifically a myco lab, it is kinda weird to be using my scope and at the same time using a 5gal keg of Nitric acid as a door stop:lol:

No, they were bottles of sulfuric acid, nitric acid, or phosphoric acid. Nothing you can't buy as a walk-up at a chemical supply store.
