humidifactor in terrarium - should we still spray water?

So my budy added those little humidificator (it's the size of a pokeball, if they existed) in his terrarium. We were wondering tho if we need to spray water on top of the little humidificator. Thanks and good morning to all my fellow shroomheads

Follow the tek. Does the tek use a 'humidificator', whatever that is?
-------------------- You make it all possible. Doesn't it feel good?

For some reason I won't be able to spray the water like in the TEK, so I had to find an alternative, just trying to find somebody who's been using the same stuff as me, thanks tho.
I'll post a picture for those who might know what I mean

Edit: Not a humidicator, but a mist vaporizer. sorry for the wrong name

It's brk tek cakes, exactly everything like in the videos, with small pieces of aluminium on top of my perlite, with the cake on top. And it's not warm mist, the link I sent you says its warm mist but when I went to canadian tire i got the regular one, so it's room temperature.

If you have a sgfc don't use a humidifier its like poking a hole in the tip of your condom ..

You should do some reading before jumping straight in. I know your all excited and cant wait to see fruit, but trust me, the more you know before starting the better. Fortunately, with this hobby, you have time to kill while staring at jars and tubs.

You're totally right but I did jump in it a bit because I have a friend who is pretty good at it and he was supose to help me threw every step. I don't have alot of time to do do by myself so I'm only doing a little bit now just to get the idea of how it works, but this summer i'll be reading alot and I will become a pro as well Thanks for taking your time to reply to me tho, it's really appreciated. Pics are up

First you need about 2" more perlite.. second your condom has a hole in the tip .... You need to have time to mist and fan in this hobby but you are using the correct fruiting chamber if you don't have the time to spend with them , lose the humidifier

Oh the top is actually on. I just made a small hole on the side so the wire could get out. Is that what u meant about the tip in the condon? Please help me lol i'm really disapointed right now and I have the whole day to fix it. For the perlite, i'm take put gloves, take the cakes out, add the wet perlite, and put them back on right now. Thanks for the fan i totally forgot i needed it, setting it up now. I will keep the vaporizer in, and mist on top of that. 3 times a day is enough?

Dont worry my brother, all day is enough time to remove the humidifier and add perlite. If you have the SGFC (shotgun fruiting chamber) drilled right you wont need it. Holes drilled every 2 inches all six sides and about 4-5 inch deep perlite, mist/fan 3-4 times a day and you'll be golden. Dont worry about a fan to much, if your not there to monitor your cakes it could dry them out....think of it as a balancing act.

Lol no no no , having the humidifier in a sgfc is like having a hole in your condom it defeats the purpose , did the video you watched say "put a humidifier in" no bc it's not ment to have it in there if you keep it in there your not going to get good results.. and do you have holes on the top and bottom ? And what kind of light is that?

this is gona sound really ghetto, but because I could only buy a PC or a drill (didnt had enough money for both) I bought the PC. To "drill" my holes, i used a screw driver, on the hoven (yea, really ghetto) till it was red, then "drilled" my hole

I'm already expecting poor results, as this is really just a test for me to get the whole idea. There's hole in the bottom / top part for sure. I just thought the vaporizer would've saved me some time but I don't care, if you guys tell me to drop the vapo and only mist, that's what I will do.

For the lightning, I have the possibility to leave the chamber in a really lighty room, where it could get the cycle of the sun next to a window. Is that a good idea or should I go get the fluorescent daylight neons?
also i have a 500 watt light i've been using for photography, maybe that would be better then buying the neons?
**edit** found my answer Only a dim light is needed, anything too bright or warm will harm the cakes. A fluorescent lamp or indirect sunlight is plenty of light. But basically any kind of visible light will do.
A few hours of light per day is all that is needed, 10 hours is probably an overkill. ( the book Mushroom Cultivator states that 12-16 hours of light is recommended, but the experience shows that much less is sufficient).
A source with a wide spectrum of light, especially containing lots of bluish light (natural daylight or white fluorescent lights are very good examples of light with lots of blue) is best, but a low wattage incandescent light (25 watts is plenty) not too close to the terrarium will work well too. Also the use of x-mass lights has been reported successful.
