Aluminum foil vs Jar lid

I watched the PF tek videos but have also came across this video which demonstrates a different technique involving using 2 layers of aluminum foil rather then a jar lid which you can use to inoculate. It seems this would be a better method as no glove box inoculation chamber seems to be required. Can I get your guys experience/thoughts on this?
Also a couple of other questions...
1.) How long have properly stored, dry shrooms, lasted for you? 2.) What constitutes a "air tight" container? Would this work? 3.) Does the size of my container I am growing in matter? I have a pretty big one, I was thinking about making about 24 jars at first, but seeing as they may lose there potency (and I don't plan on using the shrooms really often) I will probably just do 12. Will I just need more perlite for a larger container? 4.) Give me tips and newbie mistakes!
Thanks!

If you have jar lids use them, I think you can see the obvious benefits of using a solid lid rather than tinfoil which can rip very easily and is not secured as well as the jar lid. The person in the video you seen that did not use a GB just didn't feel the need, why would it differ from a tinfoil lid to a jar lid? GBs are optional, but recommended. Get creative and make one if you don't want to go buy a tote and supplies to build one.
For the rest of your questions, type those exact questions into the search engine and start a reading man. Goodluck

What he said^^^ You'll get the best results using the search bar. A million people already had those SAME EXACT questions.
That said, good luck on your first grow brother. Welcome to the shroomery.

Properly dried and stored, mushrooms will stay good for years.
An air tight container, is just that, air tight, doesn't let air in, or out. If you expect them to stay potent you need to have them absolutely dry. "cracker dry" is the terminology most used around here, and is pretty self explanatory. To have the best results, once you store your cracker dry shrooms, you should place a desiccant into the container with them, such as a silica gel packet.
Size of the growing container does matter depending on how much spawn you have and how much substrate you plan on using. Also relevant is the design of the container, because depending on size, you need to alter design to keep growing parameters optimal.
Get friendly with that search engine as suggested above, it is an extremely valuable tool.

Also read the several most recent threads in Mush Cult, most of them are full of good info. Storage was covered just yesterday, for example.

Seen 3 layer foil method. the first 2 are removed before inoculation. In our country we have Ball, Kerr and Italiano jars with lids but all are NOT "Wide Mouth" jars. So I'm going with 250ml glasses.http://bit.ly/2mp2J89
