Its hard to be 100% with that pic but by the color I see on my end I would say bruising either from lack of water or that the myc really had a good grip on the glass and when it pulled away(from lack of water) it bruised it a tad... The early pinning happens man, its no big deal, dunk when you had originally planned and leave the pins on when you do so, they should continue to grow once in the SGFC...

I use those jars. They aren't "wrong" just not as effective. It looks like its fine. I would wait ~5-7 days and birth them. Put them in a shotgun terrarium and introduce light. remember dunk and to bake your vermiculite before you roll em. I've had cobweb mold from not doing it. good luck and have fun.

Thanks for the replies I'll dunk and roll as planned unless I end up with a Dr. Manhattan running down the side of jar. So you don't think I should dunk the blue one by itself, just to be sure?

Update:
So now a few pins have started to grow up through my verm layer. Here is the best pic of them. I think one is pressing against the lid

I know the verm layer if full of bad shit. So should I be worried that these pins are going to let a whole bunch of contams into my jar?
Again, do you think I should dunk the blue cakes separate? The blue hasn't spread any and actually seems to lighter in one case. I hoping that's good a thing.
Most of my jars have pins now too btw.
***My first post has been updated with better pics all around***

Just curious...what was the timeline like for colonization? I am using pints as well and being as this is my first time I'd love something to compare to. Mine seem to stall every once and a while and I'm keeping a consistent 80-85° range.
...sorry to go off topic.

They may be stalling 'cause of temps you have them at. Best temp is around 76. And I wouldn't go higher then 80. Remember the they make heat and so the temps are higher in the jars. Usually around 6 degrees higher. Drop the temp and I bet your jar will stop stalling.

I didn't realize internal jar temp would be that different. Thanks Magic!
