second off they are a very good vendor how many people on this site trust myself as on of them, i would not use anyone else
and third off dont just start bashing a vendor when more then likely its something you did there are many variables in this process and if one of them is off it could mess up your whole grow
Im not bashing this vendor at all, they have great customer service, but latley a few of us have had the EXACT same problem with not getting any growth.
yes there are a lot of people that have this problem with all vendors each syringe has millions of spores and for none of them to germinate is a little hard to believe and i dont see any vendor doing anything that would hurt the integrity of a syringe usually is the people growing it doing something wrong
and a 1/2in whole is pretty big man i only use a 1/4in

Thanks for the info, I have to disagree a little though, ive spoken to a few people this week that recently got spores from the same place i just got mine from.
ive done Popcorn this way and BRF multiple times with no problems. The thing that stuck out to me is a member got a few different strains from the same place and only one of the strains colonized, all the others had no growth at all. That leads me to believe that this is a freak incident with this vendor.

if you saying last week then yea you might actually be right there was that shit storm in the use that snowed real but and temps in some places got below zero if being shipped with temp being that low they would be a chance of the syringes turned to shit probably to cold for them

Two holes? I don't know the Tek, but I'm surprised it suggested a 1/2" hole for "FAE" as that is likely the problem. Your grain is drying out. One 1/4" hole, covered with micro-pore tape after inoculation, would suffice.

Well, you did use a MS syringe. Rollin dice, you know.
Earlier in the thread I said I'd report back about my grain jars. They've got mycelium in em, I'm certain of it.

i followed the "RYE BITCHES RYE" tek, check out the picture of the lid in this thread, http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/4576865/fpart/1/vc/1

I somehow screwd up the moisture content of my rye jars and I had the inject some cc's of boiled (then cooled) water into them. They colonized well after that.

Since this thread seems to be getting replies and my thread doesn't, can I hijack to ask - are mine too dry then?
I thought that might be the case but then I read a post by RR saying (in essence) "They're almost never too dry, the moisture is in the grains, it's better to be too dry than too wet" so I abandoned my plans to inject some sterilised water...

yea ur jars look good and after a 24 hour soak its pretty hard to dry ur grains out to much not sure about rye though but i would think it the same as everything else

I'll keep waiting then! Oh, I also put a pinch of gypsum in there so they might look drier than they normally would.

Good to see your getting some growth. Rye is much harder to achieve germination on than brf cakes. I bet if you took that same syringe and put it on Agar/LC or a cake you would have growth.
Best of luck

If anyone is keeping score, I've got growth now too! A tiny dot....possibly a record, 4 weeks after inoculation? Highly doubtful it's mycellium, but you never know! Now to see if my sclerotia jar will ever start...

my jars started colonizing, the spores were just weak i guess, cause i got some more from the same vendor, and they started growing after 3 days.

While the grains do look a tad dry, there still lots of moisture in those kernels, should be enough for the mycelium to grow. Sometimes spores can be slow to germinate and what does germinate might be some slow growing strains, especially if they are old, which you never know they could be.

yea, it was kinda weird because I posted this thread and found out that alot of other people had problems lately with the same vendor, and it took 2 weeks for them to start, but now they are going fine. Ill post some pics of the grow soon.
The vendor was nice enough to send me new spores and like i said they started growth in 4 days.
