Tell me this is a good thing...

I started a new monotub a few days ago, and I took someone's advice on here and decided to open up two of the holes on my tub (stuffed with polyfill of course) while it colonized and consolidated and *wow*. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know enough about the life cycles of a mushroom or what stages need what or anything.. but I just checked my tub and yes, it is colonizing below the sub level along the sides of the tub (as i expected) but what i saw on the surface took me off guard. There is a massive buildup of the thickest, whitest, snowiest looking stuff that i've seen yet. Is this normal? Is this a good thing? What is that thick, snowy, cottony looking stuff anyway, and how is it different from the rope like white strands that I'm used to seeing? If someone could shed some light on this subject, i'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

Pics would help but if its snowy white you should be good and if it smells nice and mushroomy you should be good, what kind of substrate?

Bright white? Brilliant bright white? And kind of scabby looking, not stringy.? That would be green mold before it goes green.
Didn't come in from the holes, it was in your spawn.
But post pics.

Doc, if you had read my entire post, you would've noticed that I also wanted to know more about these white build-ups that I am observing. Guess I should've either asked about them a couple grows ago or just stfu about em and remained ignorant, huh? My bad.
Let's just call it my cat-like curiosity or my insatiable thirst to better understand this newfound hobby of mine, shall we?

Looks better than I thought it would. Yeah, sunlight would help. And step back, then zoom in or crop.
