Less than perfect grow room. Fan and dust.

I think Im going to give growing a try with PF tek and the shotgun terrarium. The problem is I dont have a lot of room, really just my computer room. The problem with that is that I need to run a box fan half of the time for myself and the room is kind of dusty, though the dust is clean baby powder (long story). There is a closet where I will keep the SGFC but it has no doors so I thought I could pin a bed sheet over the opening to stop the air currents from the fan and even the dust I think. Also I wondered about plugging the holes in the FC with poly-fill to keep air currents from blowing the humidity out too much, but maybe I dont need that with the sheet? Can I make this work and how strict do I need to be? Thanks all.

Putting poly in the holes of the sgfc is kinda defeating the purpose the sgfc is foolproof if you just follow the instructions to a T and dont change anything.. as far as your dusty room goes spend a day cleaning the room :shrugs:

The rule is don't point a fan directly at your FC You don't want air circulation when your doing things like spawning and open air inoculation and sorts. But when fruiting it's always good to have circulation

I added the airpump because I work a 12 hour rotating shift, although my girl is home sometimes to help. There could be a good 6-8 hours of no fanning/misting. Thats why I was thinking the airpump.
It will be fine the whole 12 hours while you're gone without attention. You need to raise it up on blocks or small jars because air is supposed to enter the holes in the bottom under the perlite.
Don't run a fan in the room at all or use an airpump. RR

This is flat-out wrong. The terrarium needs to be sitting up on a table, at least a couple of feet off the floor. 90% of all contaminants in a room are floating around in the last foot or so. Never have a terrarium near the floor.
For the rest of the OP questions, 6500K lamp on a 12/12 schedule, and place it only a few inches away from the terrarium so the light is very bright. Never run a ceiling fan in a room with a shotgun terrarium. Leave a window slightly open at all times. RR

Well circulating air is circulating air IMO. If you can't run a fan on low on the other side of a room pointing away from your fc then I guess you shouldn't fan your mono tubs either. LoL whatever the man says though right? Like I said I haven't had any problems yet. Also about the height off the floor, guess what I do? Haha I have 5 inch bolt legs on mine, so that's how high off the carpet my shit is. No contams yet either. Idk

I hope you didn't think I was trying to offend you or anything. I was just saying how I've done things and don't understand how I've not had any problems.

ok im not trying to flame you its a common thing about people saying it good for fans in a grow room a fan wont do anything to a fc and it will also help to disperse contams around the room
people have this ides that a fan in the room will help with FEA did you guys miss out on your 8th grade science
to explain you have your FC sitting in a room both the room and box have the same pressure the only way to put air into that box is to raise of lower the pressure inside it a fan will not rais or lower pressure it will just blow the air around
why a sgfc of monotub works is because of wholes and the placement its been a rumor the co2 is not heavier then o2 well shut up your dumb co2 and o2 are the same thing except for co2 has a carbon molecule added on thus making it heavier then o2 now when heavier co2 sinks it will go out the bottom whole thus making the pressure in the fc lower then the room then the fc will equal the pressure out by bringer in air from the top wholes
im actual going to make this a thread ive had many people disagree with me on this and i dont care if you want to say im wrong then go back to highschool and take a science class
like i said not flamming anyone just stating the facts and want to get the bad information straightened out
