When I get that panicky ITS TOO INTENSE feeling, like it'll get out of hand, I remember to let go of the negative thoughts, they're only causing conflict. There's no reason to have these thoughts, they can't do any good at this second. Feels nice slipping out of that negative loop. If that doesn't work quick enough, a change to a better environment can do wonders. Just go outside (preferably somewhere lit). Remember the fact you're lucky to be tripping at that moment, and to live it.

Just remember to that no matter HOW fucked up you are, no one has ever died from overdosing on mushrooms, so you'll ultimately be okay.

I once fell into this heavy depression trip and there wasn't anyone around to talk me out of it. I turned on the TV and it saved me completely. Television does your thinking for you and holds your attention, which breaks those nasty thought loops. That might help to if you need a quick fix.

Nothing can get you out of a trip, once you've dosed there's no easy way out. Not wanting the trip at that moment can get you more panicky, the knowledge that no matter how hard I want it to end it won't could help. Then again it could make it worse.

I agree - it can and does help - you're strapped in and the plane has left the ground so its best to relax and enjoy it instead of freaking out and making it hard on yourself

First describe how much you take were you take it and with who?
Mayor influences for a bad trip.
My rule is always to do them in nature (only times i had bad trips ware in the city) second with who, I only do it with my 2 traveling buddies serious and responsible explores.
Amount is up to you but in your case al go slowly until find out the reason of your bad trips.
Use some rue with it makes the trip smother less edgy easier to handle.
But I think is fear of the unknown (is natural, to feel this way) you have to let go, become like child.
Is because you are fighting it, I think.
Well good luck.

Just think happy thoughts

You can make yourself happy when tripping just by thinking about it, as long as you remember to do so.

Didn't read the rest of the thread; sorry if someone already said this.

I printed up this thread and sealed it, and wrote on the outside "Open in case of bad trip."  We're going camping tonight, going to dose tomorrow.  I am incredibly excited, I feel like a kid who's going to disneyland in the morning.

During the Dead at Bonnaroo, I actually succeeded in breaking out of a negative thought loop. By telling myself certain things about the situation, I kept a trip from going bad and instead kept it as the most positive trip of my life. It was a great feeling and the first time that I've been able to keep a trip from going bad.

That panicky feeling affects alot of my friends too. Most people like to smoke a bowl on the come up, soon before your unable to smoke . I dont get that feeling though and weed usually makes thing that much more mental. For me the best way to change the vibe is to change the music, break away from the group or just go into anouther room. Simple things can avoid a bad trip.

I had my first bad trip on shrooms 2 weeks ago. It was only an 8th but i drank a bunch of grapefruit juice. I had headphones on and was listening to shpongle. After taking the shrooms the group i was with split up, going our seperate ways. Big mistake for me, ill never trip alone again. I tricked my self into thinking i was insane, thinking shrooms cant make you see the shit im seeing. I though aliens were talking to me, which was cool, but i also had thoughts of suicide.

I could have avoided all that if i would have found one  of my friends to ground me to reality    ....im guessing.

Whenever I catch a negative or unpleasant thought loop coming on, I immediately change my setting. Get up and stretch, drink some cold water (water is a happy thing), let out a primal scream...these things almost always help me to get back on track and tripping blissfully. Peace.

I think it comes down to knowing who you are and what you're doing.. if you're not sure on either (and probably tons more personal stuff..), it can be a bumpy ride

In my opinion, taking other drugs is not a good way to "get rid of" self-induced negative "stuff."

In my car i have a cd that can break me out of any mood iand into pure bliss. I suggest that you get some music that triggers positive memories and feelings. remember that your trrip is a combination of your physical seting and your mental state. unless you are positive you have both of those components you probably shouldnt trip.

MAaan, during Widespread I started coming into a bad trip. I was having a blast until I feel my arm as if it jus been stuck(like where ppl shoot up) and I felt there and it was wet and my vein was protruding. Then they played a song something like "your time has come and feel fading blabalbla *very gloomy scary music with red lights to back effects* I wiped my head and noticed how much I was sweating and thought it was the shit some bastard injected me with. I thought I was dead. I didn't know weather to keep my cool and enjoy the music or dash through the crowds to make it to the first aid. So I decided to move closer to the stage and danced it off. I was thinkin to myself bout the last time I decieved myself while tripping and this is similar so I brought myself out of the eppisode. God I was scared shitless tho.

Yea, BUT at that time you're not thinking with a reasonable but a radical logic. I fucked myself over during my first trip, but can handle and control it now... kinda
