Seasoned expert here, kidding, but every other post starts with the opposite of expert.
Anyways I noc'd up 3 brf cakes on 4/27 with a fresh GT print that was done on 4/20 and was provided by a generous forum member. So it was my first go at creating a syringe as well as inoculation. I followed the let's grow mush videos almost exactly. I did forget to flame sterilize once between one of the jars, which could be why I have this issue. It looks like one jar has taken on some black mold. I have pics of what I think look OK with the first 2 jars and then the problem child.

I have read that the good myc may be able to take out the bad stuff, but the major concensis seem to be, if in doubt throw it out. My instinct tells me to ride it out a couple more days.
Do the other jars look OK.
The pics are from this morning, 6 days after inoculation.
Thanks for all this great info on these boards as well.

Once you see mold, resterilize & toss in the garden. Mycelium may cover up the mold, but it's still there. Mycelium will not "eat" the mold. Therefore, if it "looks" like the mold has been overtaken, it hasn't, and when you put it into your SGFC, you'll get a mold outbreak.

That's what I figured. Much thanks! I picked the absolute worst time to take on this project as my house is getting remodeled and there are all kinds of dust floating around. I was hoping the glove box, ISO and ozium would be good enough.
I made up another small syringe yesterday so hopefully I can start another batch in the next couple of days.

I would hold on to that jar for a few days and just see what happens. Take mental pictures for later.
Don't handle your jars too much or the substrate will pack down.
