After shaking WBS jar to do G2G contam or bruising
    #16174340 - 05/02/12 10:39 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

I just set up to do some G2G using a fresh master WBS jar that was made a little over a week ago.  It was great white mycelium, and I broke it up by hitting the jar on a phone book a couple times.  I then thoroughly inspected the grain again and it was still white mycelium with no signs of green/blue.  I proceeded to do a G2G of 5 jars of fresh WBS that I made up yesterday.  After pulling everything out of my still air box I noticed the grains were slightly blue/green in the master grain jar, along with all the new jars.  Is it common for the grain to bruise after breaking it up?  I have 5 more jars that I wanted to do G2G with but I will wait if it is more likely a contam.  Thanks

After letting the master grain sit for ~10-15 minutes almost all pieces of grain have turned to a blueish green.  Hoping that it is just bruising but not entirely sure.

Crap, should have searched a little deeper.  Found my answer.  Unless anyone else has anything to add to this we can close it.

Just thought I would post back and say they all recovered nicely including the master and are all showing great white mycelium now.
