Pressure Cooker Question
    #16173986 - 05/02/12 09:43 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Hi all! So in the near future I will begin my first foray into growing, and in my excitement I bought the first pressure cooker I could get my hands on.  I read in a book that the old pressure cookers are better, so when I saw one that looked just like this at at a garage sale I had to take it home.

I tried it at home, turned the stove to medium and let 2 cups of water boil for an hour and even though I could clearly see steam releasing from the valve, the pressure gauge/thermometer needle didn't move.  Does that mean it doesn't work?  Should I start looking for a new one?  Or can I still use it as is?

I would say get a new guage for it.If you don't hear steam leaking and it is building up.The guage is broke..hey becareful though you may be building a high pressure and that can be dangerous.
