Hey everyone, I should have taken pictures while I was building this, but I was just so excited when I got home from the store with my supplies...
supplies needed -2x4's (80" makes one rack, I made 4) (you can also use 2x3's) -Window Screen (at least 24" wide roll) -20" box fan -2" wood screws, drill, saw, staple gun..
All I did was build box frames out of 2x4's. Each side piece is cut to 19.5", 4 of these make a box measuring 21"x21". (2x4's are not really 2"x4")
I used two wood screws in each corner to join the sides together. (8 screws per rack) (really simple)
Then I cut window screen 24"x24" and stapled gunned it to the outside of the frame. Like stretching a canvas, I stapled one side first, then its opposite side, then whichever 3rd side, and finally its opposite side.
I made 4 of these, but you can make as many or as few as you want!
with scrap 2x4, make 4 little "feet" for each corner of the rack. These just sit on the floor to allow air to flow though.

then place one rack down, fill with wet mushrooms, place another rack on top, some more mushrooms inside, another rack, more shrooms, and so on 'till your stacks filled up.

finally, put the box fan on top facing down on high, and wait for them to be dry!

I have not actually tested this yet, but my friend is growing three strains of cubes right now and he will let you all know how well it works.
I think this is useful to keep multiple strains separate while drying. were going to use one rack per strain, and if there is too many, the 4th rack will have the excess. Also, you can rotate the shelves in the stack so the bottom rack is not always on the bottom...
If you had like, 10 racks, maybe you could use another box fan in the middle to keep the air flow strong!?
I had a plastic container with a lid that would fit this inside,... after fan drying for a couple days, I would fill the bottom most rack with descant, and snap on the lid to really dry them out!!
has anyone ever done this before?? I have so many ideas for using window screen now I'm going nuts!

I've seen a few of these, there neat though. When you dry them I would keep track which variety is on each rack. Maybe rotate them a few times? To ensure each rack gets just as dry. Cool stuff man

Bet my thingy was cheaper than yours.

Could have fit four tiers in there, if i ever grew that many. Or used a cardboard box if i wanted to go more 'ghetto'.

Well the drying rack was tested and is working great!!! 2.5 pounds of freshly harvested Treasure Coast dried to 4.7 ounces in just 3 days. The drying rack is in the room with my tubs so it provides them FAE while drying the previous flushes!!!
This only cost me the price of a roll of screen. I had all the wood lying around and the fan was pulled out of my parents storage!!

Nice man, I was thinking about getting a dehydrator, but I may try this instead. Thanks for posting this.
