Is it going to fruit or just impatience?
    #16172903 - 05/02/12 07:01 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

I put colonized whole brown rice pint cakes rolled in verm in a large shotgun terrarium. I had a succsesful fruit my last batch with a much smaller cake so I thought I'd try big ones for more production. They colonized great, the terrarium seems to be misting lightly and has the feeling of dampness when I fan it but it has been like 7 days now without any fruiting. I read a lot on here and had come to the conclusion a casing was not neccesarry. Also, I did dunk for 24 hours and I have a space heater that keeps the temp higher than my rooms.

Any suggestions? Am I just being impatient?

Unless its cold in your house, the heat might not be needed. Lowering the temps like 10°F from colonization temps is one of the triggers for pinning, from what I have read. Probably need to wait it out a bit more though. Good luck.

Bad, outdated info. Lowering the temps isn't a pining trigger. Lots of FAE is though!!

Seems like a lot of what I read on the Mushrooms Info pages here is "outdated." Guess I need to check out that "Outdated on the main page" thread, huh? Sorry guys, I'm just trying to help. Imma STFU for a while now.

:thumbup:Yeah, it's all good man. Just look at the date of when a post was posted. If it's more than...I'd say....3 years old, it may be outdated info. Just keep a look out on that and you'll be fine.:awesomenod:

So my fc is just a clear bin with a clear lid with holes in all side. You know, like the shotgun terrarium. I know thats not the problem though for sure its gott be something else.

Two things. What do you mean that the space heater will lower the "rh". Not sure what rh stands for. Second, what do you mean by evaporation after consolidation? Maybe you can extrapolate a little as I am interested.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Evaporation after misting is a pinning trigger.  In other words, when you mist, spend a lot of time fanning to dry off the mist and provide lots of fresh air.
