cake fruited in jar from top, how to put in fc?
    #16172783 - 05/02/12 06:43 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

hi i have a brf cake that fruited in the jar before 100percent colinization, i put it in a adrker are and let it fully colonize the jar, i birthed it today and i found out that the mushroom that started growing in the jar is bigger than i thought and if i put it in my fc it will be resting on the perlite, no way around it. the cake is on its 24 hour dunk period now and i want to know if i should leave it on or remove it before i put in my fc. thanks in advance!

Leave it . And try not to set your cakes directly on the perlite put some foil or jar lid under it

the cake is half pint, i was going to put it on the jar lid, should i place foil under the portion of the stape that would otherwise be touching perlite?

you probably should have pulled it before the dunk. Generally you only want pins about a half inch (give or take a little)when you dunk.
