Dunkirk
8/10
This movie disappointed me for various reasons. Christopher Nolan's best movies are Interstellar and the Dark Knight, and this was not as good as either of those. It doesn't even really tell the real story of how they got almost 400,000 people out of France before the Nazis slaughtered them. Good not great.

Interesting. Considering that the movie is so well regarded in initial assessments, your criticism is noted.
Poison(1991)- 9.5/10
Another stellar example ov my absolute favorite film genre('85-'95 new queer cinema). Here we have three separate stories that interchange throughout the film, all at different time periods and wildly differing cinematography.
'Hero' is shot as if it were a grainy tv special, mostly consisting ov interviews with people who relate their experience on knowing a 7y/o boy who kills his abusive father before flying away out ov a window. 'Homo' is clearly Jarman influenced in its cinematography and is a story set in a 1944 jail with brief sequences going back to a juvenile institute years prior. This one plays upon sexual humiliation, masculinity, the re-formed normality ov prison life, and rape. Hot! 'Horror' is a black and white tale seemingly set in the 50s ov a scientist who isolates the human sex drive only to accidently drink it. He subsequently develops a contagious leprosy that infects and kills those around him. It's most likely an allusion to the HIV which was the driving force behind the passionate creativity ov new queer cinema.
A most excellent work that was met with an nc-17 rating and much controversy. Three stories in one which revolve around a subtle central axis.

The Outlaw Josey Wales

I'm a sucker for westerns, and Clint Eastwood is a badass. Nuff said.

Well I give "Hang Em High" 9.5/10 and I like that more than Josey Wales.
Django and Keoma are 10/10, hands down. (I know that's not clint, but as westerns go, far superior) Franco Nero was awesome! Guess I know what I'm watching next!

For All Mankind
9.5/10
Awesome movie. I docked it a half-point because I found it annoying not knowing who was speaking, or what mission was being filmed at any given time. I have some knowledge of all of that, so I would have liked to have those details pointed out. Otherwise, really neat.

That's cool, everyone has their preferences. I like the 'man with no name' movies, but Josey Wales is a different type ov western. It has an awesome blend ov wisdom, comedy, and action, and is just so damn quotable in many parts. Besides, i love cap n' ball revolvers and that big ol' walker he totes is just so awesome. It's always a nice break to see a western where everyone isn't packing colt SAAs.
Unforgiven is another great atypical Eastwood western as it shows his flexibility in a more grounded anti-hero role. Josey is the funnest though IMO.

The Founder
8.5/10
Interesting to see where McDonalds came from. I had no idea the original owners had so much dignity and pride about their business. I liked the music - it let you know that something slightly bad was happening, even when it looked like everything was going well. I can't really fault this movie, but perhaps it could have been even more intense with the way the characters end up. The main character Ray Kroc ends up being quite psychopathic, in that he seems to lack any empathy, and maybe they could have made that a more intense experience. But it was a very enjoyable and film overall.

yeah I know, smiling right now, my favorite was when they were (still smiling, gotta stop that), rubbing their fingers back and forward ("It's better!")

La Ley del Deseo(1987)- 8.5/10
Interesting little queer drama from Spanish director Pedro Almodovar. A seemingly typical tale ov desires and jealousies dramatically spiced up with over-the-top Spanish passion and a bit ov the bizarre. Quite unpredictable. A young Antonio Banderas plays the awkward psychopath. It's rather silly and the acting was'nt superb overall, but it's quite entertaining.
