Men (2/10)

By Alex Garland. Starring Jessie Buckley and Rory Kinnear.

Horror/suspense. Maybe more psychological horror. I'm a big fan of Buckley -- I think she's a phenomenally talented actress. I also liked Garland's series "Devs". Thought it was great. And the trailer for Men looked trippy. So I was looking forward to it. Oh, and it was A24. I've liked several A24 films.

Kinnear plays most of the characters in the film, which was different. He played the town cop, the owner of the estate Buckley's character was renting, the bartender at the local pub, the patrons of the pub, and even a young boy who had Kinnear's face CGI'd on.

For the majority of the movie, it was at least entertaining. Until the end. But the end was utterly bizarre, disturbing, and...well, just plain bad. Ruined the entire film for me. And the end drags for a while. I found myself just praying that it would hurry up and end, lol.

I like weird movies, but even this one was too weird and bizarre for me. Would not watch again.

I loved Men (7/10), it was full of pagan symbolism which one would probably understand if you're into studying anthropology, comparative religion, or alternative spiritual paths.

The green man, the regenerative forces of nature, churches being built on pagan sites, so much symbolism throughout the movie.

The Lost City    10/10

I love this movie! Might be my favorite Romantic Comedy. The Adventure, the Comedy, the Mystery, the Characters, the Setting, the Writing, the Story. It was all really well done. It gets pretty cheesy sometimes but all RomComs do amirite? What a great movie :awesome:

Spoiler Alert! There's some really cool high-tech sci-fi vehicles in the movie which is a nice touch. And the very ending is quite weird and will make ya think :strokebeard:

Weird - weird al yancovic story. I liked it and it was fun, and weird. 7/10 because I like silly shit.

Series named "Worst Roommate Ever" on netflix. Freaky shit. People are fucking snakes sometimes and I noticed some or most of the ones duped had an initial feeling they ignored. Worth a look. 8/10 because I like docs about serial killers sometimes and people that are freaky.

Sonic the Hedgehog    10/10

Love this movie! Super fun. And the changes they did to Sonic's appearance looked great! The SFX were INSANE! Super detailed! Spoiler: I really liked all the high-tech vehicles. Very Sci-Fi. Also all the references to Sonic as an "Alien". I really enjoyed that. There was some cheesy parts but hey, its based on a video game so it fits. The ending was great with a suprize. Total feel-good movie. Highly recommended.

Moonstruck (1987) starring Nicolas Cage and Cher. 8/10. It was exactly what i was looking for and a positive surprise with its comedic scenes and light music.

BTW; how great is torrenting? I downloaded like 10 movies today in an hour. Superb quality.

Ms. 45 From 1981 starring a 17 year Zoรซ Tamerlis

A very fast-paced film with little exposition which follows a mute seamstress, Thana, who is violated in New York City. She suffers a traumatic breakdown and proceeds to gun down every man she happens to come into contact with. Intimate directing, emotional scenes with convincing acting, and an old lady landlord to deliver some comic relief with her curious little dog. A good deal of gore is included and some time is spent showing how the woman deals with the consequences of her actions. This adds a silent psychological angle to the film which is both disturbing and intriguing. 7/10

A gif from Strangest Dreams: Invasion of The Space-Preachers

5/10

Funny story, good acting but no real rewatch value. Two young men set out for the woods and are promptly victimized by the locals. A crashed alien-turned hot chick (I know, unbelievable) targets "Lash" - an over-confident alien who is trying to brainwash a town of Southerners. His plans are foiled by the two young men, but the hot chick post-alien thing has no idea what she's doing, so why the hell is she there in the first place? Writing fail.

You People on Netflix - average romantic comedy, not bad.  Of course that's not the movie which you gonna rewatch again and again.
Looking forward to watch all the movies which were nominated for Oskar this year, but need to do a kodi update first. By link I found a detailed instruction how to do it, but as I am not really tech savvy, hope it will just work for me.

Not exactly a movie but a documentary called MH370 about the plane (flight MH370) that vanished somewhere over Malaysia back in 2014. Very interesting.

10/10.

Downsizing  9/10

Sometime last week, i had this "urge" to watch this movie. No idea why. I checked Paramount+ and it was available for streaming, so I decided to watch it. I love this movie! Its so awesome. I got emotional too. So many things happen. I didnt like the very end thou. It felt unfinished somehow. But overall, loved this movie.

SPOILER: There's a great drug/party scene in this movie. Probably my favorite. Be ready :mushroom2:

"The Frighteners"

A fucking excellent 1996 Comedy-Horror starring Michael J Fox as a medium who leverages his "gift" for his own livlihood.
Until even he starts to get creeped out with proceedings...

8/10 Movie, really enjoyable humour near the start when the chicks BF complains about having to call some "Quack job" to sort the poltergeist problem while pans and plates etc all levitate around him cracked me up on both viewings  great acting, pretty decent story but it's clear that Weta Digtials banging CG on this film steals the show.
The overall atmosphere is spot on too.
