The Batman  (2022)  8/10

Really good movie! One of my favorite Batmans. Really has that dark and gloomy Film Noir feel during the entire movie. The Riddler was my favorite character besides Batman. Stellar performance. Well worth the 2 hour duration. However, there is one scene in the movie near the end that made me give the entire movie a lower rating. It just didnt make sense. It felt like it was directed by a different director for like 2-3 minutes of the movie. Very odd choice. But overall, an awesome movie! Cant wait till the next one.

Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness (2022)  9.9/10

I love this Movie! Its incredible! The SFX are mind-blowing! Lots of great acting and characters too. And a totally unexpected storyline that really took me by surprise in a great way. What a trippy journey! Lots of surprises in store too :awesome: There was some corny jokes sprinkled in but it hardly took away from the overall awesomeness of the film. So well done.

I took 1 hit of Acid before the movie on Saturday and my only regret was not taking two :lsd: Will be seeing it again soon :yesnod:

Stars and Bars (1988)
8/10

I had never heard of this before but the cast of actors pulled me in.  It was really an enjoyable surprise.  I love movies with a cast of crazy characters and a unpredictable Lebowski-esque plot.  I also seem to love everything that Harry Dean Stanton is in.

Duel To The Death (1983)

”One of the last of the Old School Hong Kong martial arts flicks, this one deals with a legendary competition in swordplay and fighting that ends up being fought between two great warriors, a Chinese man and a Japanese man, who, over the course of the film, have become friends”

Classic old school / new wave Kung Fu Chinese vs Japanese fight for honor turns into an adventure of understanding differences found by looking beyond the surface - complete with goober goodness, they don’t make em like this anymore .

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore
6 out of 10

Its a redbox type movie. I wonder how much better it would of been if johnny depp didnt get pulled from the movie.

The new batman was depressing. Robert Pattinson is a pussy. How can a depressing pussy plat Batman? They cant...

Romeo + Juliet (1996)
7/10

I hadn't seen this since I rented it from a video store sometime in the 90s.  I think it still holds up pretty well and this time around I appreciated the whole Hispanic influenced southern California alter-world setting, complete with pop-art Catholic imagery.  The music contained therein made an iconic 90s soundtrack that everyone I knew had a CD of.  I completely forgot the Paul Rudd and Brian Dennehy were in it.

Don’t suggest that movie man it’s sick I seen half of it and had to turn it off. It’s probably the worst movie ever made in the history of movies unless your into perverted things.

George Carlin: American Dream (2022)
10/10

An in depth look into Carlin's comedic evolution and his impact on the evolution of comedy itself, as well as a look into his personal life.  It is well done and is very persuasive on having one to believe that he was the greatest comedian of all time.

The French Dispatch (2021)
8/10

This film has a huge cast of great actors and performances.  Some of the stories were hard to follow during this first viewing, but will further decipher when watching again.  It is done in a similar style of storytelling as The Budapest Hotel and you can see influences from French directors through out the film, such as Godard, Truffaut and Tati.  I enjoyed it.

Interesting, I'll have to check out that Carlin one, thanks for the info!

Edit: I'd give the Carlin doc a 10/10 as well, it was funny and moving, and really informative. I never knew much about the guy aside from some standup so seeing his comedy evolve and all the influences on his life was pretty amazing. Thanks again.

Magic of the Universe (AKA Monster of the Universe) (1986)
6/10

Insanely low-budget and fast-paced flick that will have you WTFing and laughing out loud.  I recommend putting this one on for your drunk hooligan friends or during an argument with your significant other.

The Tourist  (2010)
8/10

I was pleasantly surprised with this one.  It had me guessing all the time, which is rare for a film this day and age.  Depp was on point as always, and was actually laugh-out-loud funny at times.  Jolie was stunning with her cat-like movements and looks to match.  She should have been cast as Cat Woman at some point in her career.

The Batman 5.5/10

Review: good when he's beating people up, boring otherwise.
