Don Peyote (2014)
10/10

I dove into this one head-first with no prior knowledge about the film and Holy Schnickees it blew the lid right off my mind.  The most unexpected things happen right out of the blue.  This is the kind of movie that you are going to absolutely love or absolutely hate.  I think that if you are the kind of person that found the move Rubber entertaining, then this is a movie you will like....or not,....its getting hard for me to tell anymore.

Dark Future(1994)
6/10

This movie was horribly delicious.  I found it hard to believe that this film was made in the 90s.  It had the "feel" of any 80s movie: the film quality, the protagonist's porno mustache and just everything about it.  The acting is horrendous and the protagonist's acting is way over the top.  I laughed so much.  I need to start a Bad Film For Therapy Club.

I finished Neon Genesis Evangelion...

Watched episodes 1-14 last year & while I thought the animation was great, I didn't finish the series.  Nothing special about the story & I didn't see how this anime was highly regarded.  Well fast forward to this weekend, ate 2 grams of AA+ and was not expecting the second half being so brutal & mind fucking.

After the last episode I went straight to the movie, End of Evangelion.  10/10 & I will be re-watching many times.  AKIRA still is my favorite anime of all time, but EoE is right below it.

Eternals  10/10

I love this movie. The Ancient Aliens concept going on in the movie is Epic! The movie is sorta similar to the Tor book series The Eternal Guardians but with a Thor-magic on Earth sort of twist. Loved it :mushroom2:

The Fountain (2006)
9/10

I tried to watch this the first time when it first came out on video and didn't finish it, for whatever reason.  This time I watched the whole thing and WOW what I movie.  I can't help but think that this may have inspired Cloud Atlas.  It seems to me that a lot of this film is open to the viewer's interpretation.  I feel that the main character was released from his after-life bubble once he accepted death.  I really enjoyed it.

The Thin Red Line (1998) Someone a while back, maybe Clock of Omens or Lavod or someone was a big fan of Terrance Malik and their posts got me interested in checking out more Malick Films. 9/10 pretty awesome, Nick Nolte's finest hour

Cold Souls (2009)
6/10

I should have rated this lower but I simply love Paul Giamatti.  It has some interesting concepts but I can't get past the feeling that this was heavily influenced by the "Charlie Kaufman/Spike Jonez/Michel Gondry" films.  I would have loved to have seen this script done by any of the 3 individuals I just mentioned.  Could have been better and the ending just comes out of nowhere, like the film studio ran out of money or something.

The Big Empty (2003)
7/10

This was a pretty entertaining flick I hadn't heard of until now.  There is an array of peculiar characters portrayed by a great cast.  The plot is pretty wild and unpredictable, which is always great.  Definitely worth a re-watch.  And you get to see Frasier Crane drop a couple of F-Bombs.

I just watched psycho from 1960. I really like that movie it’s really good for something from 1960. I would give it 9.5 out of 10. I never seen it till today but my other favorite old horror movie is The Last House on the Left but that’s 1972. I’m into disturbing movies.

Pretty high rating for music & camera shots. Although I must admit, I'm a sucker for a dope soundtrack and elite visuals as well.

It looks like a phenomenal movie to watch in 4K. I need to get around to seeing it.

Speaking of movies that look really good visually that I didn't understand -- Tenet. I didn't understand most of it. I was hopelessly lost like literally a few minutes into it. Dune will probably be the same thing for me where I'm just sitting there like

:joneswtf:

Ugh I didn't finish it either years ago. I need to watch it and finish it, though. I've been told it's a pretty high level movie to trip to as well.
