Irrational Man 9/10
Very good seemingly overlooked 2016 Allen movie, I can't really summarize without giving it away. Joaquin Phoenix is in an understated role here, so he didn't have to portray the overwhelming talent he possesses, but he was still very good. Recommended.

Small Time Crooks 8/10
Nice comedy about a bunch of inept and stupid petty criminals. It has a good plot and is quite funny. Tracy Ullman steals the show.

The Purple Rose of Cairo 7.5/10
According to Woody Allen, of the movies he's made, this is his favorite. To me, it is not one of his better movies. Just sort of a silly plot involving magic and a love story that seems uncompelling, with an ending that is incongruously depressing. Still, it's entertaining and worthy of three stars.

Fatal Pursuit (1995) 6/10
This movie is hilariously bad, but I must admit, I may not have been this entertained with low-budget trash since I discovered Parole Violators. The editing adds to the laugh factor with the close-ups and reaction shots. Imagine Captain Ron was a private eye but in a Lifetime movie or a Burt Reynolds version of "The Dude" Lebowski or a big Hollywood-sized budget version of Ronnie Dobbs as a character in the classic Samurai Cop. Also included in this movie is Robert "The Chin" D'Zar rocking a wig and sometimes not.

The Undertaker and His Pals (1966) 6/10
Somewhat entertaining film that seems a bit gory for it's time, especially for a comedy. There are quite a few laugh-out-loud and WTF moments. There is a scene where a girl is firing a gun but she makes the movements from the gun kick-back way after you hear the shots being fired. "highly recommended for those who revel in bad taste."

The Rats Are Coming! The Werewolves Are Here! (1972) 7/10
This is basically a Hammer Studios film minus the Hammer Studios budget. This is a well done B-movie. It's a weird one and the crazy ending just springs up on ya from outta nowhere.

Superman 3 (1983) 8/10
I have probably seen this movie over 100 times (as well as Superman 2) as I watched it quite a bit in my youth. The best part is Evil Superman VS Clark Kent. I also like it when Robert Vaughn gets a mechanical sister. The Richard Pryor rounded-penny scheme is genius and influenced the likes of Office Space

Inglorious basterds 10/10
2nd time seeing this, the last time being at least 4 years ago. Great movie. So Tarantino. I give tens very freely so this doesn't mean it's one of the best movies ever
Edit: why can't all movies be this great...

Midnight in Paris 10/10
This is one of Woody Allen's best. It opened the Cannes Film Festival in 2011, in which year The Tree of Life won the Palme d'Or. I agree with that decision -- as good as Woody Allen is, he's not as good as Terence Malick.
