Kin 8/10
Not a bad movie. I liked all the different layers, sci fi futuristic and urbanism, family values, gangsters, all the classics. Acting was pretty decent too.
Some of it was waaay unrealistic, but it was still sweeeeet. Kinda like Cowboys vs. Aliens in some respects.

First Man 8/10
It’s more about the man than the mission but I still learned a lot about both aspects in the film.

Spoiler alert, best police shootout since Heat and you don't fuck with the Natives and their spiritualty compared to the piece of shit that is modern day U.S. society. Even without the natives and their spirituality cops treat people like human beings. Seeing live t.v. of it and how they talk to them and vice versa. It is how it should be. Not killing each other, but not this authoritarian corruption and idiocy.
Loved this movie. Things at work in this world much higher than Donald Trump and the American justice system. Or those natives that have sold out for the "American way of life". Losing all touch to their ancestors and mystical life. Spiritualism.
So here is the scene I loved, and overall great movie. 8/10 Hold the Dark.
It is on Netflix for those that have it. There is so much to this story. As well as the culture in Alaska.

SPOILER!
That series is a slow burn, but the illusions of what we think what everyone wants and what we want compared to reality, that episode, the women with the broken neck, that goes from childhood to adulthood. Wow. That is some good script writing.
I don't want to look at it in my own life. I have seen my own ending and it is really going to suck. But to have this character and that depth of a story and the illusion of conditioned life, that was so well done. Pleasing everyone in it. When it amounts to just being used and never being oneself. The illusion fades for everyone.
I think we all keep things in our subconscious for a reason and we will know those illusions when we die. What is worth holding on to and what is worth letting go?

Crimson Tide
8.5/10
Very good movie about a catastrophic near-miss regarding a submarine preparing to launch hydrogen bombs with incomplete orders. The sheer improbability of not blowing ourselves up by now seems like evidence of divine intervention to me. As the film portrays, submarine commanders used to have authority to launch. This changed in 1996, and now only the President does. Interesting and entertaining movie.

Three Bewildered People in the Night(1987)-
I do not like to rate no budget films but i'll just say that this was quite appreciated. The premiere film directed by Gregg Araki, whose work i have a great fondness for, we see the raw foundation for what was shaped into his characteristic signature in later works. B&W and dominantly centralized around 3 characters on a $5k budget, it's naturally a very minimalistic film and that's perfectly okay. The juvenile but profound nature ov the dialogue, as with all ov Araki's work, creates a very believable nature to the characters and storyline. Far too often will filmmakers portray young characters that are too eloquent or wise than is typical ov actual youth, and this more honest approach lends toward developing a better relation to the protagonists. Things said, removed ov any superfluous fizz, hit home in ways that one can easily relate to. The love triangle(MMF) depicted in the film develops slowly and many will find such a movie boring. I adore such work however. The ultimate 'why not?' permutation ov the triangle also has profound personal acquiescence to my idea ov what i call polyamorphosis, the morphosis and advancement ov the individual through acceptance ov polyamory and transcendence ov intimacy barriers. A diamond in the rough, yes, but one that can be picked up and thrown to shatter the rose colored window ov perception to reveal the clear mirror that awaits behind.

Die Welle aka The Wave (2008).
Cool start but ends up in a predictable fashion. 7/10
Plus subtitles were fucking up so it was a suffering to reset them every five mins.

The Interview 8/10
I was pretty surprized by this movie. I thought it would be totally stupid but it was actually well written. It did have lots of dumb jokes but i thought it was pretty damn funny and well thought out. Lots of twists and turns. Definitely recommend this fucked up movie
